Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and an active AK RN license.
Details
- 13-week contract in the Labor & Delivery unit of a 407-bed acute care Magnet hospital in Alaska
- High-risk L&D unit featuring 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
- Averages approximately 7 deliveries per day, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
- OB Triage handles 4–5 third-trimester testing patients daily in addition to general triage volume
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to like OB units may be required to meet facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free on-site parking available
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate and Advanced), and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- RTO is approved on an individual basis — all requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may be denied
- This is a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska designation facility
