Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hematology/Oncology Med/Surg position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience in a comparable large-scale hospital setting.

Details

• Evening shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
• Assignment is approximately 8 weeks in length
• Unit 10A is a Hematology/Oncology Medical/Surgical unit
• Common diagnoses include oncology, step-down care, and high-volume sickle cell cases
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is not approved on most units

Requirements

• Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact state license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Hematology/Oncology RN experience in a comparable high-volume hospital setting
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Candidates must have demonstrated experience in high-pressure, large-scale, high-acuity environments — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Skills checklist matching the Med/Surg or Oncology specialty required for consideration
• Copies of certifications and active license required for consideration
• Resume and work history including EMR experience required for consideration

• Candidates must be comfortable managing critical, fast-paced situations with high case volume and severity
• No RTO (requested time off) will be approved for this assignment
