Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/PCU position requiring 2+ years of experience and a rotating 36/48 night shift schedule.
Details
- 34-bed Step-Down/PCU unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5 (subject to fluctuation based on census and call-ins)
- Meditech EMR in use
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a on a rotating 36/48 schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 the next)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope of practice is required
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY state or compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of current Step-Down/PCU experience required
- Valid driver's license with address matching permanent address required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration: at least one Charge Nurse or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
- Middle name required — confirmation needed if candidate does not have one
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Orientation is offered on a bi-weekly basis
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted after submission
- Travelers must be willing to work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- Travelers who have worked within this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
- Any license hits or background check issues must be disclosed upfront
