Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Trauma unit (7 South) in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent specialty experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care trauma and surgical unit (7 South) in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes trauma, orthopedic, and urology patients, as well as patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, or observation
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Interdisciplinary team approach involving family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units and hospitals required
- Holiday coverage required as assigned
- EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
- No hits (past or current) on license allowed
- AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- NURSYS license verification required
- Current driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides individualized acute care to trauma, surgical, ortho, and urology patients using an interdisciplinary team approach
- A cardiac exam will be administered after offer acceptance
- No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
- Timekeeping system: Centricity
- Solid navy scrubs required
- Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same rates — no radius restrictions
- Parking is available on-site
