Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Adult) with an active NV RRT license and 2+ years of recent acute/critical care experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II trauma center in Reno, NV.

Details

  • Work within the Respiratory Care Services department at a Level II trauma center with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds
  • Care for adult patients in critical care, general care, and other units as needed
  • 3x12-hour shifts with rotating days of the week and varied shift times
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • May float to other units within competency level based on organizational needs
  • May be required to work major holidays, including a minimum of 2 major holidays during the assignment
  • May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
  • Call requirements to be discussed during interview
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
  • Uses Epic for charting, with training provided during orientation or option to test out

Requirements

  • Active Nevada RRT license required prior to submission
  • Must apply for Nevada State Point of Care Analyst license, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care prior to start
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
  • CPI certification required for Behavioral/Psych duties
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience required
  • Recent critical care experience required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred, training available during orientation
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders to improve cardiopulmonary conditions across patient populations from newborn to geriatric
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to guide initiation, modification, and discontinuation of care under established protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient records and department logs
  • Stay current on technological advances and clinical applications relevant to respiratory therapy
  • Deliver a positive patient experience through clear communication and service recovery practices when needed
  • Work in an extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile radius as the region's only Level II trauma center
  • Facility offers advanced specialty services including neurosciences, robotic surgery, and comprehensive heart and cancer care
  • Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • A 13-week break is required between assignments for returning travelers, regardless of prior contract length
  • Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration, as contracts will not be extended to accommodate RTO
  • Kronos is used for timekeeping
