Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (Adult) with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a high-volume Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV.
Details
- Position is based in the Respiratory Care Services department of an 800-bed, Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile radius with ER, trauma, stroke, pediatric, and critical care services
- Patient population spans newborn to geriatric, with primary focus on critical care units, adult general care, and pediatric general care
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts per week with rotating days and varied shifts, including potential weekends, holidays, and call shifts
- Floating to other areas of the organization may be required up to competency level
- Call requirements to be discussed during interview
- Epic EMR used for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
- 13-week contract duration
Requirements
- Active RRT credential required
- Active Nevada State Respiratory Therapy License required for consideration
- Must apply for Nevada Point of Care Analyst License, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care license prior to start
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Performs respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders for patients across the lifespan, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Responsible for patient assessment, protocol initiation and modification, and documentation of all patient records
- Therapists are empowered to initiate, refine, transition, discontinue, and restart therapy as patient condition dictates under structured protocols
- Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the assignment
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a minimum 13-week break after their last contract before returning
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to submission, as it will not be made up at the end of the contract
