Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab charge nurse role requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and comfort leading a team of LPNs and CNAs.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting
• Charge nurse role leading a team of LPNs and CNAs
• Rehab patient population with an average length of stay of approximately 14 days
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Rotating schedule alternating every two weeks, covering Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Every other weekend required
• Charting via Cerner
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license currently in hand — proof of license required for consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required for the charge nurse role
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Inpatient hospital or rehab setting experience required
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, IV therapy, and gastric tube feedings required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred (onsite training available if not already certified)
• Confidence in charge nurse duties and team leadership skills required

Additional Information

• This is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital — not a long-term acute care (LTAC) or skilled nursing facility
• Charge nurse responsibilities include leading and directing a team of LPNs and CNAs
• Navy blue scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
• All time off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration and will not be approved after an offer is made
• Cannot request every holiday off
• Any call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours of advance notice
