Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU Step-Down position requiring a MO or compact RN license, ACLS, and drip experience with night shift and every other weekend availability.

Details

  • 12-hour night shifts, 18:45–07:15
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down setting
  • Patient population includes telemetry and progressive care cases requiring IV drip management (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin)
  • Preferred experience with higher-acuity drips including Levophed, Nicardipine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Neosynephrine, and Dobutamine
  • EMR: Altera Sunrise (formerly Allscripts); prior experience not required — noted to be very similar to Cerner
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Some holiday coverage required
  • Floating based on skillset; travelers are first to float

Requirements

  • Active RN license — MO or compact state license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC required only if coming from an ICU background
  • Minimum of telemetry nursing experience required; PCU/Step-Down experience strongly preferred
  • ICU experience a plus
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • New graduates will not be considered for this position
  • Orientation spans approximately 5 days: system-wide orientation (Days 1–2), facility and clinical orientation (Days 3–4), and computer/unit onboarding (Day 5)
  • This is a nicotine-free facility
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
