Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a nonprofit tertiary teaching hospital in Flint, MI, requiring ARRT or NMTCB registration and graduation from an AMA-approved nuclear medicine program.
Details
- Work in the Nuclear Medicine department of a 378-bed nonprofit tertiary teaching hospital affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine
- Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging studies including measuring and preparing radioactive isotopes for specified body areas
- Monday–Friday day shift, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- EMR: Cerner
Requirements
- Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine required
- Registration in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or NMTCB required
- Current BLS certification required
- Michigan license required if applicable
- Physical copy of ARRT or NMTCB certification required for consideration
Additional Information
- Obtains patient history, explains procedures, and addresses patient concerns to ensure comfort and confidence
- Administers medications and substances within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
- Performs quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self
- Complies with Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory standards
- Maintains documentation, logs, charts, and records in paper and electronic formats
- Performs routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment
- May assist other areas of radiology as assigned
- Matching scrubs required
- Candidates with a permanent address within 35 miles of the facility are considered local travelers and are subject to a reduced travel pay rate
- RTO requests are limited to no more than 5 days
- Current full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment
