Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit, with BLS and ACLS required.
Details
- Work is performed on a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit on the fourth floor of the hospital
- Patient population includes medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and/or significantly altered hemodynamics requiring cardiac monitoring, as well as respiratory illness cases
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts (0700–1930)
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Weekend and holiday coverage required with no special scheduling accommodations
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety considerations and implement appropriate safety measures
- Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, direct patient care, and coordinating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
- Provides patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
- Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors team members' performance in patient care activities
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
- Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Previous nursing experience preferred but not required
