Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit, with BLS and ACLS required.

Details

• Work is performed on a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit on the fourth floor of the hospital
• Patient population includes medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and/or significantly altered hemodynamics requiring cardiac monitoring, as well as respiratory illness cases
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (0700–1930)
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required with no special scheduling accommodations
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety considerations and implement appropriate safety measures
• Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, direct patient care, and coordinating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Provides patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors team members' performance in patient care activities
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Previous nursing experience preferred but not required
