Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Stepdown (CVU) position in Petoskey, MI, requiring cardiac proficiency and EKG competency on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) at a hospital recognized as a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S.
- The CVU cares for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually, including post-op open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op)
- Procedures encountered include PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers
- Specializes in care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- On-call may be required
- Floating to similar units is required
- 8-week contract
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of stepdown experience required
- Cardiac proficiency required
- EKG competency required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide clinical assessment and care for cardiovascular patients using clinical judgment to diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health conditions
- The CVU has been recognized with a Silver Beacon Award and was redesigned in partnership with the AACN
- Unit supports national clinical trials through an on-site research department
- The facility enforces a strict 3-strike attendance policy — three instances of absence or arriving more than 20 minutes late will result in immediate termination; exceptions may be considered for documented communicable illness or hospitalization
- Current full-time employees of the McLaren health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the contract
- References are not required for consideration
