Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2-3 years of circulating experience across a broad range of surgical specialties and an active HI RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting with 6 OR suites plus one dedicated C-section suite, running 4-6 rooms simultaneously
- Broad surgical case mix including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology
- Variable shifts operating within a 0645–2315 window, Monday through Friday, scheduled 40 hours per week
- On-call coverage is assigned 24/7; travelers are assigned call on average 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month
- Call-back response time required within 30 minutes
- EMR/systems used: Meditech and Pyxis
Requirements
- Active RN license for the State of Hawaii required
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Minimum 2-3 years of independent circulating experience in a hospital OR setting
- Must reside within a 30-minute radius of the facility to meet call-back requirements
Additional Information
- Primary responsibilities include circulating cases, assisting with room turnover and cleaning, transporting patients, and scheduling cases
- Ability to scrub cases is preferred but not required
- Orientation is conducted on day shift for up to one week or at manager's discretion
- If RTO is requested and approved, a minimum of 39 shifts must be completed during the contract duration
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the assignment start date; travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
