Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and a broad surgical background.

Details

• Work setting is a 320-bed acute care hospital
• Assignment to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Experience with all types of surgery is expected given the unit's diverse patient population
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (9:00–19:30), Monday through Friday
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Meditech
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• First-time travelers must have 3+ years of PACU experience to be considered
• Well-rounded surgical background across all surgery types is strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Scrub color for RNs is royal blue
• Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed; scheduling requests due to secondary employment will not be accommodated
• Block scheduling and specific day-off requests cannot be accommodated
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
