Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position specializing in surgical trauma and telemetry monitoring, with night shift availability and Epic EMR experience required.
Details
- 41-bed progressive care trauma/telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Adult patient population requiring care following traumatic injury, including gunshot wounds, penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls — typically post-surgical
- Hemodynamically stable patients on unit
- Telemetry monitoring capability for up to 14 patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 as needed
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- 6 weekend shifts per every 6-week schedule
- Floating to other Prisma Health units and/or campuses may be required based on census needs; floats will only occur to units where competency has been established
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale, and Telemetry (TELE)
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a medication assessment prior to starting
- Must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus (Prisma Health Richland) to be eligible for this position
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Valid driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration

- Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
- Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the contracted Prisma Health campus to be eligible; candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this position
- Candidates must reside 100+ miles from all Prisma Health facilities to be eligible for the standard travel pay rate
