Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ICU position at a Level I Trauma Magnet teaching hospital, requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- ICU setting within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital
- Primary focus on Cardiac ICU patients, with overflow coverage from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- 13-week contract with potential for extension beyond 13 weeks
- Every other weekend required; flexibility for additional unit needs expected
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Floating to other ICUs and border areas should be expected
- Charting via Epic (required)
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; TNCC preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required (at least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital); first-time travelers will not be considered unless they have a minimum of 1 year of Level I Trauma experience (eligible for screening only, not auto-offer)
- Experience in high-volume, high-acuity teaching and trauma facilities strongly preferred
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- References must be from a direct supervisor (not a charge RN)
Additional Information
- Prior UW Medicine staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum; no more than 6 days of RTO for the contract
- The facility prefers to avoid placing travel pairs together on the same unit
- Scrubs are blue; facility-provided scrubs are available as needed, or candidates may wear their own solid blue scrubs
- Onsite parking is available at a daily cost; offsite parking is also available approximately 1 mile away with a 10-minute shuttle (weekdays only, 5am–10pm, not available nights, weekends, or holidays)
- Candidates interested in a contract length longer than 13 weeks should indicate this when applying
