Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult ICU experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital in Indiana.

Details

• Work in a General Care and Adult Intensive Care unit at an acute care hospital in Indiana
• Adult ICU patient population
• Required respiratory skills include airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Preferred experience with bronchoscopes, as well as trauma and ER settings
• Preferred equipment experience: Hamilton G5 ventilator and Philips V60
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 17:30–06:00
• Travelers may not work more than 5 consecutive days
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
• Holiday rotation required; candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Requirements

• Current IN or Compact RN/RT license required — license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Active NBRC RRT credential required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA and RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in an adult ICU setting
• Education must be in-person, accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• COVID and flu vaccines required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to adult general care and ICU patients, including ventilator management, airway management, and related therapeutic interventions
• Preferred experience in trauma or teaching hospital environments
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN employees of this facility must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within this health system are required to take a consecutive break before being eligible again — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
