Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a critical access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, requiring at least 3 years of acute care experience and a VT or compact RN license.
Details
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend required
- General Med/Surg unit at a 25-bed critical access hospital
- Primarily adult patient population with occasional pediatric patients
- Care includes medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, and swing bed cases
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active VT RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications required prior to start
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience required
- Adult Med/Surg experience required; this is not a pediatric floor and peds-only RNs will not be considered
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for coordinating comprehensive patient care including medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and occasional pediatric cases
- Works closely with a Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor during each shift
- Care approach emphasizes holistic needs including physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental considerations
- Travelers begin the assignment on Wednesdays
- All required credentials must be uploaded at least five business days prior to the start date
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
