Description
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist for a 13-week float assignment covering the North Region (Cape Ann area) of Massachusetts, requiring 1+ year of certified home care OT experience and an active MA license.
Details
- Home health setting serving patients in their place of residence across the North Region, including the Cape Ann, Ipswich, and North Pods (covering communities such as Essex, Gloucester, Rockport, Ipswich, Haverhill, Newburyport, Methuen, and surrounding areas)
- Float position covering multiple geographic pods within the service area
- Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- Diverse patient population ranging from birth to 100+ years, with impairments resulting from injury, disease, or disability
- Travel required within the agency's geographic service area
- Epic used for charting
- Timekeeping via UKG/Kronos
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts OT license required; MA conditional licenses are not accepted — license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of certified home care OT experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care, rehab, or home care as an OT
- Registered with the Massachusetts Board of Registration
- AHA-only certifications required
- Proficiency with various computer software required; experience with handheld patient care devices preferred
- Epic EMR experience
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing workloads
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
- Local candidates must have a permanent residence more than 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify at the standard rate
Additional Information
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes, addressing cognitive and/or physical impairments
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and allied health professionals to identify needs and coordinate care
- Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources as part of patient care planning
- RTO must be communicated at the time of consideration
- Start date is contingent on credentialing clearance; a rescheduled start may be necessary if clearance is not completed in time
- No public parking is validated at Boston-area locations; public parking lots are available at a daily cost, and public transportation is an option
