Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position in Lexington, KY, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications with strong neuro experience preferred.
Details
- 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU (2B Neuro ICU) in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery, carotid stent, surgical post-op, cardiac interventions, sepsis, general surgery, and complex critical care patients
- Unit supports a comprehensive stroke program for patients requiring critical care placement
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 3–4 weekend shifts per month required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted KY RN license or a current compact RN license
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
- Minimum required education: ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
- Strong neuro ICU experience preferred
- Must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care coordination, patient and family education, discharge planning, and ongoing documentation using the nursing process
- Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other team members in alignment with the plan of care
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
- Promotes a healing environment and nursing excellence through evidence-based practice and collaborative team dynamics
