Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience in a similarly sized facility and cardiac drip management skills.
Details
- 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit with a primary cardiac patient population
- Patient population includes STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiothoracic surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P) cases
- Cardiac drip management required, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and vasopressors
- Patient ratio of 1:3–4
- May be assigned to telemetry beds within the same unit for lower-acuity patients
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) state or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similarly sized facility
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and diverse cases required
- Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced cardiac and trauma situations
- Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

- This position is located at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex and challenging cases
- Local candidates are welcome to apply
- Responsibilities include managing cardiac drips and caring for intermediate coronary care patients at varying acuity levels
