Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Labor & Delivery travel assignment in Austin, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and must-have certifications including EFM, ACLS, BLS, and NRP.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting, located on the 4th floor of a 32-bed unit
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; both day and night shifts are available on the unit
• Rotating/alternating weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:2, with a charge nurse and co-charge nurse on both day and night shifts
• Performs procedures including SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC
• Equipment used includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
• EMR: Meditech
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring (or NCCEFM)
• SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required
• 2+ years of recent L&D nursing experience required
• SSN (US only) and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• All certifications must remain valid for at least 30 days beyond the assignment start date; AHA or ARC accepted

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include internal fetal monitor placement competency and prior HCA assignment or employment experience
• Experience in a high-volume Level IV L&D unit is preferred
• STABLE certification is also listed as a preferred credential
• Dress code: navy blue scrubs; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only — T-shirts are not acceptable
• The unit is staffed with approximately 150 team members, supporting a collaborative care environment
