Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Wilmington, NC.
Details
- Work in a hospital MRI department within an acute care setting
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatric patients is preferred
- Procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral MR, spin echo imaging, surface coils, T1/T2, and CINE
- Preferred skills include chest imaging and image post-processing
- Equipment includes GE and Siemens MRI systems
- EMR: Epic
- Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Thursday through Saturday
- Floating required to orthopedic and satellite medical center locations as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI Technologist experience required
- Current BLS and ARRT certification required; license required if applicable
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Experience with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations required
- Proficiency with GE and Siemens MRI equipment
- Two manager or supervisor professional references from within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)
Additional Information
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may be subject to a different pay rate
- Former permanent, PRN, or employee pool staff of this health system must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- No RTO is permitted after booking; any call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved thereafter provided it does not fall on a holiday, and anything beyond 7 days requires facility approval
- Candidate must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Orientation is held Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM during the first week; full availability is required with no other commitments
- The final confirmed start date is communicated the Tuesday prior to the start week; travelers may begin on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week
- Approximately 8–10 hours of online pre-start modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date
- Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and could be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Travel pairs are welcome but must have independent transportation and be flexible with differing schedules
