Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience, with night shift availability and every-other-weekend commitment.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift within the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications must be on file and copies provided for consideration
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or relevant nursing experience required
• No alternate shift or schedule requests will be accommodated — posted night shift is firm

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
