Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position with a 1:6 patient ratio on night shift, open to first-time travelers.

Details

• General Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic (EMR) and Pyxis for medication management
• SBAR communication framework used on unit
• No alternate shifts or special scheduling requests are permitted

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, and one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
