Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level III trauma acute care hospital in Bemidji, MN.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a Level III trauma designation
- 117-bed facility with respiratory therapy coverage across multiple departments including ED, ICU, Med/Surg, Peds, OB, and Family Care areas
- Procedures include ventilator management, nebulizer treatments, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP, and bedside spirometry
- Equipment includes Drager ventilators, Respironics BiPAP/CPAP, Smart Vest, MicroNebs, and Mortara EKG carts
- Charting via Epic EMR; Pyxis medication system in use
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
- Floating required across all hospital departments and areas
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program
- Active Minnesota state license required, or willingness to obtain upon acceptance of offer (license required if applicable)
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), CRT and RRT via NBRC, ACLS, NRP
- Competency in care and treatment of patients of all ages
- Proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and spirometry devices
- Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize daily duties
- Two current professional references required — one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years in the relevant specialty
- Copies of active certifications required for consideration; no pending certifications accepted
Additional Information
- Responsible for ventilator management, breathing treatments, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP therapy, and bedside spirometry across multiple care settings
- Orientation consists of 8 hours covering hospital layout, equipment storage, department policies, patient care areas, and brief computer training
- Gray scrubs required
- Candidates with previous employment at any Sanford Health location must disclose this prior work history; a minimum gap of 6 months from end date to submission date is required for returning employees
- Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are eligible to apply
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
