Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown (PCU) position in Tennessee, requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work in a 23-bed Stepdown Intermediate Care unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathy, acute coronary syndrome, and pre/post cardiac surgery patients
• Ages served range from young adults through late adults (18–60+)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1
• Core staffing team includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns; RNs hold full responsibility for patient care
• Day shift: 06:45–19:15
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (Group A renewed yearly; Groups B–F renewed every 2 years)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Full Social Security Number and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a variety of cardiac patients including those with heart failure and acute coronary conditions
• Local candidates are accepted; however, candidates living within the facility's radius may be eligible only at a reduced pay rate
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
