Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience and hands-on proficiency with advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT.
Details
- Inpatient hospital CVICU setting
- Patient population includes fresh open heart surgery cases (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), ventilated patients, patients with chest tubes and lumbar drains, and chronic and acute renal failure
- Patient ratio of 1:1-2; ratios may vary when floating
- Procedures and equipment include Post-Op Open Heart Recovery, Swan catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines (Alines), chest tubes, Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax
- Charting in Epic EMR
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend and applicable holidays required
- Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED (for ICU holding patients), and all IMC units
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience with prior CVICU training may be considered
- Experience with advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT (Prismax) OR experience with fresh heart cases required
- Proficiency in Post-Op Open Heart Recovery, Swan catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- All time-off requests and schedule accommodations must be submitted and approved prior to an offer being extended
