Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position at a Level I Trauma, Teaching hospital in New Mexico, requiring ACLS, BLS, and hands-on ICU equipment experience including vents and telemetry.
Details
- Medical ICU unit within a Level I Trauma, Teaching, acute care hospital with 554 staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating may be required to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients
- Charting via Cerner
- Specialty equipment includes telemetry, ventilators, arterial lines, central venous access, pulmonary artery catheters, FloTrac, transvenous pacers, Minnesota tubes, cooling devices, vasoactive drip titrations, CRRT, ECMO, Impella, and IABP (CRRT, ECMO, Impella, and IABP are managed only by device-certified nurses)
- With a new tower opening, travelers may be asked to switch to the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTVICU)
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required
- Telemetry and ventilator experience required
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO requests exceeding 7 days require approval; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
- Minimum contract length is 10 weeks
- Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning
- Black scrubs required
