Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Ventura County requiring at least 3 years of IR experience, conscious sedation skills, and the ability to respond to on-call within 15 minutes.

Details

• 13-week contract in a hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• On-call required every other weekend, Friday 4:30 PM through Monday 8:00 AM
• Must be available to respond on-site within 15 minutes when on call
• Patient population spans pediatrics through geriatrics
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio
• Approximately 3–10 procedures performed per nurse per day
• Unit has one angiography suite; cases are primarily trauma-related and standard IR procedures (no Neuro IR)
• Two nurses are typically present per procedure, each taking a distinct role (e.g., circulating and sedation)
• Floating to PACU/Recovery may be required as needed
• Occasional floating to a nearby affiliate IR location (approximately 15 minutes away) may be required, though rare

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC required; TCAR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience required
• Conscious sedation experience required

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities are in IR, with some floating to Nuclear Medicine
• Cross-training to PACU is available for interested candidates
• Must reside within 15 minutes of the facility to meet on-call response requirements
