Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a strong Neuroscience ICU background with specialized skills in EVD, ICP, CRRT, and neuro-endovascular post-procedural care.
Details
- 10-bed Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) within a hospital setting
- Critically ill patient population including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, non-traumatic neurosurgery, and neurology patients aged 18 and older; also serves as overflow for medical patients
- Post-operative care for neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular procedures including ICP monitoring, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, craniotomy, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Post-care following IV and/or IA tPA administration
- Epic EMR experience required
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15; flexibility to rotate day/night shifts is a plus
- Every other weekend (EOW) required, plus holiday coverage as needed
- One hardship shift may be required depending on assignment timeframe
- Floating to other floors, including ICU and acute care, may be required
Requirements
- Active PA or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Strong background in EVD, ICP monitoring, angiogram post-care, CRRT, carotid, and embolization procedures
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- A clinical screening will be conducted to assess clinical fit prior to manager review; a manager interview is required
- May care for COVID-positive patients
- Tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility
- Maximum 7 days of RTO for the duration of the assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Local candidates are considered at a reduced rate
- 13-week contract

Sometimes the schedule can be confusing with rotating shifts and call schedules that don’t align well with your scheduled shifts. But again if there is a major concern they’ll try and work with you on it!
