Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Magnet-designated facility, Level II Trauma Center, and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Operating Room (OR) unit with 407 total staffed beds
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts; start times vary between 6:45–19:15 or 9:00–21:30
- Weekend shifts are required
- On-call is limited to coverage for call-offs only
- Floating to like units may be required to meet facility needs
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Charting is performed in Epic (required)
- Parking is free
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required; pending license accepted but must be in hand prior to offer
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must also meet the 50-mile radius requirement
- All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- RTO is approved on an individual basis — all requested time off must be disclosed upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
- Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
