Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 NICU travel position requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and the ability to float to related pediatric units.

Details

  • Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Level 4 NICU in an academic, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with a Children's Hospital designation
  • Mixed acuity unit serving neonatal patients ranging from under 23 weeks gestation to full-term newborns
  • Proficiency required with IV vasopressors, high frequency ventilation, high flow nasal cannula, respiratory distress syndrome management, and ventilator management
  • Float responsibilities include Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and Mother Baby Unit (MBU)
  • 12 weekend shifts required per contract
  • No on-call requirements
  • Charting performed in Cerner

Requirements

  • Active NM RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted)
  • Current certifications: BLS and NRP
  • Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
  • Ability and willingness to float to Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and MBU within scope of practice
  • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Provides care for neonates across a full acuity range, including micro-preemies under 23 weeks through full-term newborns
  • RTO requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
  • Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark must take a 6-month break before returning
  • Contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks in length
  • Black scrubs required
  • Free parking available on-site
