Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical night shift position at an academic medical center, with at least 1.5 years of M/S experience and an active MO or compact RN license required.
Details
- Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit with a maximum capacity of 57 beds serving internal medicine patients with a wide range of diagnoses
- Unit amenities include video monitoring capability, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms
- Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Patient ratios are 1:6 on nights, with the possibility of going up to 1:7
- Floating to MS and MS/Tele units is required
- Cerner charting experience is preferred but not required
- Must be available to work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract period
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending licenses accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- CPI certification preferred
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years strongly preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position; candidates between 50–75 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
- Holiday coverage is required for 50% of holidays occurring during the contract; the facility will work with travelers on which holidays they cover
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application — requests cannot be approved after submission
- This is an active role involving frequent ambulation and patient handling in a 24/7 healthcare environment
- Rotating shifts, holiday work, and availability during inclement weather may be required
