Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience for an inpatient rehab role in Indiana, working with a diverse, high-acuity patient population.
Details
- Inpatient acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30)
- Monday–Friday schedule with one weekend day per month
- 19-person inpatient acute care rehab team
- Patients across all acuity levels including ICU and progressive care units
- Diagnoses include CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illness, dementia, MS, Parkinson's disease, and ambulation impairments
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
Requirements
- Current Indiana OT license required (license required if applicable)
- NBCOT certification required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA and RQI accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Manual Therapy and/or Lymphedema certifications preferred
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Evaluate patients and develop and implement plans of care (POC) including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities to improve functional outcomes
- Assess and make discharge disposition recommendations on a daily basis
- Royal blue scrubs required; black shoes required
- Travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible for this Allied position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of this facility must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within this health system are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
