Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring active Cerner experience and a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience.

• Short-term acute care hospital setting
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with day shift scheduling (7:00–19:30, 3x12-hour shifts)
• Floating required to Med-Surg and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Cerner EMR — experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA and RQI formats accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• RN degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited university required
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are not eligible for this PCU position
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Any permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month separation period before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, effective 2/24/26
• Note: As of 11/30/24, Indiana-licensed RNs are not permitted to work at IU Health facilities in PCU roles — this exemption applies only to Periop/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers
