Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Level I Trauma Magnet teaching hospital, requiring conscious sedation experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Hospital-based Endoscopy unit at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic teaching facility
- Unit covers three areas: intake, sedation, and post-procedure — float between all three areas is required
- Patient ratios: 1:1 in the intake area, 1:1 in the sedation area, and 1:2 in the post-procedure area
- CRNAs are available for patients requiring MAC sedation
- 4x10-hour day shifts (8:30–19:00; may shift to 7:30–18:00 with advance notice)
- 1–2 weekend and/or holiday on-call shifts required per month
- Telemetry monitoring required with proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Charting via Epic — required (hard stop)
- Unit has 4 staffed beds
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital experience required; ICU background highly preferred
- Conscious/procedural sedation experience required (hard stop) — conscious sedation certification highly preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience in high-volume, high-acuity teaching and/or trauma facilities strongly preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- Former UW Health system staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- RTO is not permitted during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum; no more than 6 days of RTO for the contract
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- A Relias assessment will be administered as part of the evaluation process
- Scrubs are facility-provided as needed, or candidates may wear their own solid-color scrubs
- On-site parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking option (~1 mile away) is also available via a 10-minute shuttle (weekdays, 5am–10pm only)
