Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel contract in an IMC Med/Surgical unit, working night shifts with telemetry and acute care responsibilities in San Marcos, TX.

Details

• Intermediate Medical Care (IMC) Med/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Acute med/surg and telemetry patient population
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license with TX privileges required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients using the nursing process
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Provides patient and family education, identifying learning needs and appropriate resources
• New hire orientation must be completed within the first 30 days, including organizational and Med/Surg-specific competency validations
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted unless explicitly noted on the position
