Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Longview, TX, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
Details
- Night shift position: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- 13-week contract
- Emergency Care Center (ECC) department within a hospital setting
- Full-time schedule
Requirements
- Active RN license in TX or a compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
- Current TNCC certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (Emergency Department preferred)
- BSN preferred
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Current skills checklist required for consideration
- Copies of all active certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ED patients
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care delivered
- Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
- Makes assignments and delegates to other care providers as appropriate to manage clinical situations
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member; onboarding includes completion of both an organizational entry competency validation and an ED-specific competency validation
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
