Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Largo, FL, requiring at least 1 year of experience with critical care and ventilator management skills.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department in a 286-bed acute care hospital
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Night shift staffing consists of 4 therapists per shift
• Ventilator equipment includes Servo and 840 models
• Meditech EMR (experience preferred)
• May float to the facility's psych/rehab campus, which is treated as a float unit
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage required in rotation with hospital employees

Requirements

• RRT credential required; must be actively licensed and certified
• ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in respiratory therapy
• Must have worked in the specialty within the last 6 months
• Critical care skills and ventilator management experience required
• Strong patient assessment skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required (Florida state requirement)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Performs nebulizer treatments, ABG draws from A-lines and by stick, and assists with intubations, CODE responses, and rapid responses
• Gray scrubs required for Respiratory Therapy staff
• Parking is available in the facility garage on the third and fourth floors
