Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an SICU position in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- 12-bed Surgical/Medical/Neuro ICU unit at a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Birmingham, AL
- Patient population includes neurological and intensive care patients requiring complex critical care management
- Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
- Specialized equipment includes ventilators, arterial lines, and central venous lines (CVLs)
- EMR: Cerner
- Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active AL RN license or compact RN license, in hand at time of consideration — must be free of any hits or violations
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS (American Red Cross not accepted)
- Current AHA NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Neuro ICU experience preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to neuro and surgical intensive care patients, including management of ventilators, arterial lines, and CVLs
- The facility is a comprehensive healthcare system managed and operated by Orlando Health, a private not-for-profit organization
- Recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, neurological care, and surgical care, including Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission
- Navy scrubs required; scrubs are mandatory
- All certifications must be AHA-issued and must not be expired or expiring within 30 days of the start date
