Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ECMO Specialist experience and both pediatric and adult ICU backgrounds for a night shift travel assignment in a critical care setting.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12 nights)
- Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on unit need
- Floating required between the CVICU and PICU units
- Patient population includes both pediatric (PICU) and adult (CVICU) patients requiring ECMO support
- Patient diagnoses include post-cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, traumatic injury, ARDS/respiratory failure, and other critical acute illnesses requiring ECMO support
- Special procedures include managing the ECMO device during bedside ECMO cannulation and/or cannula repositioning
- Equipment used: Cardiohelp ECMO console, Centrimag ECMO console, Cardio Quip heater-cooler unit, and glucometer (point-of-care testing)
- Epic EMR is used; minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
Requirements
- Current RRT license; SC RRT license required if applicable
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- ECMO Specialist experience required, including completion of an ECMO specialty device course and required CMEs to maintain proficiency
- Both pediatric and adult ICU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license (DL) required for consideration
- Must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Travelers work alongside ICU RNs and RTs, with primary responsibility for ECMO device management in the ICU, following the ECMO order set and provider team direction
- Care is delivered in both the PICU (pediatric patients) and CVICU (adult patients) requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (heart/lung) support
- Floating to other units or campuses may be requested based on census needs; travelers will only float to units where they are qualified and have demonstrated competencies
- Candidates residing 50–99.9 miles from the contracted campus are eligible but subject to a reduced pay rate; candidates 100+ miles away are eligible at the full travel rate
