Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and a NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility (post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every 3rd weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
- Floating required between all health system campuses as needed
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory
- Acute care rehab experience preferred
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory
- Skills required include interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, vital signs, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine UA clean catch, phlebotomy), and patient health questionnaire/history/allergies
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- A copy of a valid driver's license and copies of certifications are required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with neurological and rehabilitation diagnoses in an inpatient setting
- All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- 13-week contract
