Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
Specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility (post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical)
Patient ratio of 1:6
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Every 3rd weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
Floating required between all health system campuses as needed
Epic EMR experience is mandatory
Acute care rehab experience preferred

Requirements

Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Epic EMR experience is mandatory
Skills required include interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, vital signs, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine UA clean catch, phlebotomy), and patient health questionnaire/history/allergies
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
A copy of a valid driver's license and copies of certifications are required for consideration
Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide specialized nursing care to patients with neurological and rehabilitation diagnoses in an inpatient setting
All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
13-week contract
