Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Women's Center L&D/Mother Baby/Postpartum position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification, and availability for night shifts with every other weekend coverage.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Women's Center serving L&D, Mother Baby, and Postpartum patients
• Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 1 triage bed, and 4 postpartum beds, with approximately 80–100 births per year
• Common diagnoses include gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• OB techs are present on the unit; OB/Neonatologist is not in-house 24/7
• Telemetry is available on the unit; RNs are responsible for reading fetal monitor strips
• EFM system used is GE Centricity; charting is done in Epic
• Respiratory equipment available includes CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
• 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), with weekends scheduled every other weekend
• 3–4 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule; must be available and able to report on-site within 30 minutes when on call
• Holiday coverage required for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
• No floating requirements
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Basic fetal monitoring skills and knowledge of AWHONN guidelines required
• Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
• Ability to titrate drips including Oxytocin, Insulin, and Epidural
• Epic EMR experience required
• A copy of an unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
• Any licensing disciplinary history must be disclosed upfront

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient care with fetal monitoring
• Ability to circulate and recover Cesarean sections is preferred
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support is available on the unit
• Orientation is provided intradepartmentally
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 13-week contract totaling approximately 36 hours per week
