Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with 1+ year of experience for a 13-week outpatient OT assignment requiring previous travel experience and Cerner familiarity.
Details
- Outpatient occupational therapy setting with exposure to inpatient, acute rehab, and skilled care populations
- Patient diagnoses include med/surg, ICU, acute rehab (neuro, cardiac, ortho), joints, weakness, and pneumonia
- Caseload of approximately 10–12 scheduled 1:1 patients per day
- Day shift with variable 7–8 AM start times on 8-hour shifts
- 2 weekend shifts (Saturday full day with a comp day during the week, and Sunday ortho/stroke coverage) across the 13-week contract
- Holidays are not required but volunteering is welcome
- COTAs available to assist with throughput and turnover as a second set of hands
- Charting system: Cerner (Epic experience preferred)
- Candidates must live more than 45 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Requirements
- Current, active Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient OT experience required
- Previous travel experience required for outpatient placement
- Current BLS certification required
- Hand therapy certification preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Orientation consists of 1 shadow day followed by independent patient coverage beginning day 2
- Collaborative therapy department with resources always available; therapists work closely across disciplines
- Business casual dress code required (khakis and polo)
- Ideal candidate is a team-oriented communicator who is comfortable collaborating with colleagues and other departments
- No holiday coverage required, though volunteering is an option
