Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - ECMO Specialist for a night shift position requiring both pediatric and adult ECMO experience and a minimum of 1 year of Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- 13-week contract in a hospital ICU setting, working within both the CVICU and PICU units
- Patient population includes post cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, traumatic injury, ARDS/respiratory failure, and other critical acute illnesses requiring ECMO support
- Floating is required between the CVICU and PICU units; float assignments will be limited to units and tasks for which competency has been demonstrated
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12 Hours)
- Every other weekend required, though scheduling may adjust based on unit need
- Special procedures include managing the ECMO device during bedside cannulation and/or cannula repositioning
- Equipment used includes Cardiohelp ECMO console, Centrimag ECMO console, Cardio Quip heater-cooler unit, and glucometer (point-of-care testing)
- Epic EMR is used; minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of recent ECMO Specialist experience required
- Both pediatric and adult ICU experience required
- ECMO specialty device course completion and required CMEs to maintain proficiency
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travelers work alongside ICU RNs and RTs, with primary responsibility for ECMO device management in the ICU, following the ECMO order set and provider team direction
- Two professional references are required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the Prisma Greenville flagship hospital to be eligible for this position; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
