Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital, managing vented patients and performing intrahospital transports.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Respiratory Therapy department
- Responsible for an average of 8 ventilated patients per shift in the unit
- Work assignments are paired with step-down and/or floor assignments, covering an average of 3–4 floors
- Averages 2–3 intrahospital transports (CT, MRI, Specials) per shift
- Equipment used includes Servo i ventilator, V60 BiPAP, and iStat for ABG analysis
- Night shift: 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform direct patient care and respiratory care procedures across all areas of the facility
- Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts in a timely manner
- Exercise clinical judgment and assessment skills to monitor patients and communicate findings to the care team
- Document and maintain patient records, charts, and reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in respiratory care educational activities and departmental meetings
- Specially trained therapists may also perform Pulmonary Functions, Methacholine Challenges, Hyperbaric Medicine, NICU care, PICU care, and Asthma Education
