Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN Perioperative Circulator for an Adult Surgery OR unit in Oklahoma City, requiring at least 1 year of acute OR experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in an Adult Surgery OR unit at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Minimum 6 months of Level 1 trauma OR experience required for this assignment
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute operating room environment
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of AORN Standards and perioperative nursing practices
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care in an OR setting
- CNOR certification preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsible for direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures
- Individualizes patient care based on health status, age, and the specific surgery or procedure being performed
- Accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of perioperative care using the nursing process
- Applies clinical knowledge, judgment, and reasoning to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of surgical patients
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for a subsequent contract
- This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines — travelers must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
