Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting - Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma Center, and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska with 407 staffed beds
- Operating Room (OR) unit
- 3x12-hour day shifts; shift start times vary between 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM
- Weekend work required
- On-call is limited to coverage for call-offs only
- May float to like units within scope as needed to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting via Epic (required)
- Hospital-provided scrubs
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required; pending license may be accepted but AK RN license must be in hand prior to offer
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; RTO is approved on an individual basis and requests made after submission or offer may be denied
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting are required for consideration
- SSN and DOB are required for consideration
