Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Oklahoma, with Epic charting experience and prior travel assignment experience required.
Details
- Position is in the ICU of a 171-bed acute care hospital and Level 3 Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
- Patient ratios are 1:2, with occasional 1:3
- Common diagnoses and procedures include CRRT, cardiac surgery (CABG), hemodynamic monitoring, respiratory failure/vent management, DKA, altered mental status, and management of multiple drips
- Specialized procedures include central line setup and management, arterial (ART) line management, and CVP monitoring
- Charting is done in Epic — experience is required
- A minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period is required
- Floating may be required to Med/Surg (1:5 ratio) or the ER based on census
- Block scheduling and special scheduling requests are not accommodated
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or Compact RN license — no pending licenses accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic EMR experience is required and must be recent; experience must be clearly documented on your work history profile
- Minimum of 3 years of hospital ICU experience preferred
- Basic dysrhythmia recognition training required
- Minimum of two successful prior travel assignments required with no performance or attendance issues — first-time travelers will not be considered
- No background hits allowed
- Must be willing and able to complete all assigned modules before the start date
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients with complex conditions such as CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and multiple vasoactive drips
- Must be available to report to the lab for compliance testing within 48–72 hours of signing a contract
- The facility maintains a zero-fault attendance policy — any missed scheduled shift, regardless of reason, counts as unexcused; 2 missed shifts result in a warning and 3 missed shifts may result in contract cancellation
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per 13-week assignment; no RTO during holidays
- No additional RTO requests will be accepted after the time of submission or while on contract
- Scrub color varies by unit
- Parking is free
