Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center with 4+ years of OR experience, on-call availability, and a rotating day/evening/night schedule.

• Large, Level I Trauma Center OR operating 24/7 with 1,567 staffed beds
• Subspecialties include orthopedics, vascular, endovascular, plastics, ENT, neuro, thoracic, general, colorectal, urology, GYN, trauma, and transplant surgery
• DaVinci Robotics experience utilized (Xi and DV5 systems)
• Rotating day, evening, and night shifts; schedule released in 6-week blocks, posted 2 weeks in advance
• Shift times: Days 7:00–17:30 / Nights 21:00–7:30 (4x10-hour shifts)
• Flexible scheduling options: 4x10s, 5x8s, or 2x12s and 2x8s
• Weekend availability required
• On-call required
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Parking available for approximately $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 4 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
• No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Academic medical center environment supporting a broad, high-acuity surgical caseload
• Transplant experience is not required despite the unit performing transplant surgeries
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• Royal blue scrubs required
• RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• One reference required for consideration
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
