Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center with 4+ years of OR experience, on-call availability, and a rotating day/evening/night schedule.
Details
- Large, Level I Trauma Center OR operating 24/7 with 1,567 staffed beds
- Subspecialties include orthopedics, vascular, endovascular, plastics, ENT, neuro, thoracic, general, colorectal, urology, GYN, trauma, and transplant surgery
- DaVinci Robotics experience utilized (Xi and DV5 systems)
- Rotating day, evening, and night shifts; schedule released in 6-week blocks, posted 2 weeks in advance
- Shift times: Days 7:00–17:30 / Nights 21:00–7:30 (4x10-hour shifts)
- Flexible scheduling options: 4x10s, 5x8s, or 2x12s and 2x8s
- Weekend availability required
- On-call required
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Parking available for approximately $125/month
Requirements
- Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of OR nursing experience required
- Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
- No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
Additional Information
- Academic medical center environment supporting a broad, high-acuity surgical caseload
- Transplant experience is not required despite the unit performing transplant surgeries
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
- Royal blue scrubs required
- RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- One reference required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
