Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Skilled Nursing Facility with a minimum of 3 years of experience and BLS certification.
Details
- Skilled Nursing Facility setting
- Daily patient load of 5-9 patients
- Part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, flexible with two 8-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift
- Day shift schedule
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling accommodations
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- State license required if applicable
- Recent EPIC EMR experience preferred but not required
- Experience in SNF, LTAC, adult outpatient, adult rehabilitation, and home health settings preferred
- Skilled in dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluations, compensatory strategies, and thickening agents
- Experience treating CVA, dysarthria, dysphagia, TBI, tracheostomy, and voice disorders
- Experience with augmentative and alternative communication devices preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare A and B billing and documentation preferred
Additional Information
- Conduct assessments, evaluations, reassessments, and discharge planning for patients
- Develop and implement plans of care and functional maintenance programs
- Provide patient and family education and in-service training
- Utilize adaptive equipment and alternative communication devices as needed
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as later requests will not be considered
- Facility maintains an attendance policy; missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
- Pass/fail testing for Cardiac Dysrhythmia is required during orientation, with only one attempt allowed
- Previous SRHS perm staff are not eligible to return as travelers to any SRHS facility
